Position Description:
As the Vice President of Engineering, you will be responsible for managing a small team of engineers and developers, overseeing the technology infrastructure across multiple lines of business, and ensuring the efficiency and effectiveness of all technology operations. Your role will be pivotal in shaping the future technology landscape of our company, driving cost efficiencies, and maintaining the integrity of our digital presence across multiple websites and platforms.
Responsibilities:
Leadership & Team Development:
- Lead, mentor, and manage a team of frontend, backend, and full-stack engineers to deliver high-quality, scalable software on time and within scope.
- Contribute to code development as needed and conduct code reviews to ensure high-quality code that adheres to best practices for security, scalability, and performance.
- Establish and enforce preferred coding languages, frameworks, and parameters to standardize development practices across the team.
Engineering Strategy & Software Development Lifecycle Management:
- Develop and maintain technology strategies and architectural frameworks that align with business objectives and ensure system scalability, performance, and technical excellence.
- Lead the end-to-end development process (planning, design, execution, deployment) and promote a DevOps culture by integrating CI/CD pipelines.
- Establish and maintain automated QA testing frameworks to ensure consistent quality, efficiency, and reliability across all software products.
Optimization & Technical Debt Management:
- Identify and address areas of technical debt, implementing long-term improvements for system performance and maintainability.
- Drive initiatives to optimize the codebase, infrastructure, and development processes, improving team efficiency and overall product quality.
- Cross-functional Collaboration & Stakeholder Alignment:
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams (product, operations, marketing) to ensure technology initiatives align with business goals and address evolving needs.
- Ensure DevOps and engineering solutions meet the requirements of multiple departments and business functions.
Infrastructure & Security Oversight:
- Oversee the setup, maintenance, and scalability of cloud infrastructure (AWS, EC-2, S3, Route 53) and manage code repositories, domain services, and application systems.
- Maintain robust security protocols and guide teams to secure data across applications and internal systems, ensuring compliance with industry standards.
- Oversee the effective integration and security of workstations, network devices, and application systems.
IT Support & Asset Management:
- Oversee IT support and helpdesk functions to ensure timely resolution of technical issues across the organization.
- Ensure proper management of software and hardware assets, including procurement, integration, and configuration.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
- Minimum of 8 years of Engineering or DevOps experience, with at least 5 years in a leadership role managing technical teams.
- Strong hands-on experience with software development, particularly web applications and front-end development. Ability to review and critique code and technical designs across HTML, JavaScript, API, and WordPress.
- Proven experience in managing and maintaining multiple websites, overseeing product development lifecycles, and managing complex technology projects with a strong understanding of product management principles.
- Familiarity with modern web development frameworks, CRM systems (home-grown and third-party), and experience managing offshore/nearshore teams, QA, and third-party contractors.
- Proficiency in AWS services (EC-2, S3, Route 53), SSH/SFTP, DNS, domain management, and SSL.
- Experience in troubleshooting and supporting both software and hardware environments, including managing PC, Apple devices, and mobile device management (MDM) for hardware assets.
- Expertise in software asset management, integrations, and configurations across multiple platforms.
- Experience with network setup and management, including routers, switches, firewalls, and other networking equipment.
- Demonstrated ability to align technology initiatives with business objectives, strategically plan for future technology trends, and manage technology costs effectively.
- Demonstrate proficiency in or be willing to learn any coding language necessary to perform the duties of the role.

Compensation:
$180,000.00 - $220,000.00 per year.
