We have recently partnered with a Machinery Manufacturing firm that specializes in system integration and turn-key packaging solutions offering various material handling conveyance however, primarily serving their customers in the Food & Beverage industries.
Overview:
We are seeking a highly skilled Electrical Controls Engineer to join our dynamic team, focused on designing, programming, and implementing automation solutions. This role offers hybrid flexibility, but candidates must be willing to travel to customer sites as needed to manage projects and collaborate with clients. You'll be responsible for programming and integrating PLC systems, primarily using Rockwell Automation platforms, FANUC robotics, and overseeing the electrical design and development of greenfield projects from scratch.
Key Responsibilities:
PLC Programming:
- Develop and configure PLC control systems using Rockwell Automation Systems creating, testing, troubleshooting, and optimizing automation systems.
FANUC Robotics Programming:
- Program and integrate FANUC robotic systems for automated machine solutions.
- Collaborate on new robotic cell designs, ensuring proper integration with other automation systems, including PLCs, safety systems, and HMI interfaces.
Electrical Design:
- Collaborate with the engineering team to design, develop, and implement electrical control systems, including hardware and software solutions for industrial automation (using AutoCAD).
- Working understanding of schematic wiring diagrams, PLC I/O, connection diagrams, and field drawings for design work.
Project Management:
- Lead/support greenfield projects, which include building machines from the ground up and working on custom automation projects for customers in the Food & Beverage industries.
- Travel to customer sites to perform installations, tests, troubleshooting, and provide technical support as required.
- Documentation & Compliance: Develop project documentation, including schematics, user manuals, and technical specifications. Ensure all systems are compliant with industry regulations and safety standards.
Greenfield Project Examples:
- Designing and programming custom robotic assembly lines for manufacturing plants.
- Building automated packaging machines for food processing industries from scratch.
- Developing complete automation systems for automotive assembly lines, integrating PLCs and robotics.
- Programming and designing material handling systems for large-scale warehouses.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering, Control Systems Engineering, or related field.
- 3+ years of hands-on experience in PLC programming (Rockwell Automation required).
- Strong knowledge of electrical design and control system architecture.
- Ability to travel to customer sites as needed.
Preferred Skills:
- Hands-on experience for developing & programming PLC programs preferably with Rockwell Automation Systems Platform.
- Experience in HMI/SCADA development.
- Proven experience with FANUC robotics programming.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD Electrical or similar design software.
- Familiarity with other robotic platforms or automation systems is a plus.
