We are looking for a full-time Commercial Banking Loan Assistant that will play a vital role in supporting our current & future clients. Responsibilities and Duties:
This role will have responsibility for daily management of all aspects of assigned commercial portfolio and will partner with the Commercial Banking Client Advisors to ensure optimum client service. This role is responsible for a variety of tasks including those listed below:
Key Roles/Responsibilities:
- Manage loan closing process
- Manage loan renewal process
- Coordinate advances on lines of credit
- Keep client files current and accurate
- Provide exceptional service to client and associates
Responsibility Details:
- Review and confirm covenant compliance testing and monthly ABL reports.
- Using independent discretion and judgement will manage the renewal process with Commercial Banking Client Advisors, Credit Analysts and Loan Operations.
- Timely submission of financial information from Client Advisors
- Expediting the underwriting process.
- Collect post-approval items for Loan Operations.
- Monitor the matured loan report to prevent past dues.
- Work with Loan Operations and/or attorney on closing checklist items.
- Manage the ordering and receipt of surveys, appraisal, and title, for real estate loans.
- Request and collect business entity documentation.
- Look for new business opportunities from existing clients during the renewal of existing loans and monitoring of existing credit facilities.
- Coordinate construction draw requests with Credit, inspection, and title date downs.
- Coordinate guidance lines of credit draws and supporting financial requirements.
- Deliver non-essential items requested by the client to their business.
- Clear exceptions for Loan Operations.
- As appropriate, will accompany Client Advisors on appointments to develop a stronger relationship the client has with Oakworth Capital Bank.
- Collection of financial information to ensure correct and up-to-date client files.
- Occasionally provide backup support for our Client Support Specialists in order to maintain our exceptional lobby experience. This could include greeting clients, processing transactions, & handling cash. This role would not be responsible for any sales or quota goals, and only asked to focus on client experience.
Qualifications and Skills:
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent preferred
- Minimum of 4 years of experience in commercial loan documentation
- Previous commercial lending or credit experience is a plus
- Experience with a Client Relationship Management (CRM) system and Horizon (or other core banking system) preferred
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite is required
- Excellent Communication Skills – verbal, written, listening
- Team focused (collaborative, works well with others, supports team goals)
- Acute attention to detail
- Organizational skills
- Ability to utilize technology resources
- High level of professionalism with confidential and sensitive information
