Job Description
The Vice President of Project Development will be responsible for:
- Leading and mentoring the development team, ensuring the successful execution of utility-scale solar, wind, and storage projects.
- Driving site selection, securing real estate rights, and managing negotiations with landowners and local authorities.
- Overseeing resource planning, environmental assessments, and project permitting.
- Managing relationships with stakeholders, including landowners, regulatory bodies, and external partners.
- Steering the budgeting, scheduling, and project bidding process, including preparation of responses to RFPs.
- Collaborating with internal teams and external consultants to deliver projects on time and within budget.
- Shaping project strategies based on market trends, governmental policies, and regulatory changes impacting renewable energy development.
The Successful Applicant
The ideal candidate for the VP of Project Development will have:
- A minimum of 8 years of experience in the renewable energy industry, with proven success in leading full life-cycle utility-scale project development.
- Extensive experience with solar, wind, and/or energy storage projects.
- Strong background in land development, stakeholder management, and regulatory negotiations.
- In-depth knowledge of environmental regulations, permitting processes, and tax incentive programs for renewable energy projects.
- Exceptional leadership, team management, and communication skills.
- A bachelor's degree is required; an advanced degree in a related field is preferred.
