Job Title: Mechanical Design Engineer

Pay Range: $88,334 - $132,502 Annually
Role Overview:
The Mechanical Design Engineer will develop and design electronic enclosures for aero gas turbine engines. This involves ensuring the enclosures meet project requirements from concept through to qualification testing. You will support local Corporation and global engine programs at various project stages, including concept, design, development, prototype testing, and final manufacture.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct component trade studies for new and existing hardware.
- Create and review functional and physical interfaces.
- Generate analysis requirements for enclosures.
- Collaborate with electronics engineering to ensure enclosures meet both electronic and mechanical requirements.
- Support the creation of detailed drawings and model-based definitions.
- Assist project/manufacturing teams in procuring conforming hardware.
- Lead Technical Review/Design Review meetings and communicate solutions with the project/customer.
- Develop technical presentations and reports.
- Ensure compliance with product certification requirements (e.g., RTCA/DO-160, MIL-STD-810).
Basic Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering with 2+ years of design experience, OR
- Master’s degree in Engineering, OR
- PhD in Engineering
Preferred Requirements:
- 5+ years of experience in electronic enclosures design.
- Proficiency with computer-aided design and analysis tools such as Siemens NX and ANSYS.
- Familiarity with cross-discipline engineering concepts, including manufacturing engineering, aerodynamics, thermodynamics, thermal and mechanical analysis.
- Knowledge of aero gas turbine control systems.
- Familiarity with design processes and component testing.
