POSITION SUMMARY:
The Human Resources Specialist is responsible for providing a wide range of HR generalist support to our manufacturing operations management and team members. They will also work with the development and enhancement of training for our supervisors, identifying knowledge gaps and strengths. You will lead and drive investigations across the facility, while mitigating risk. Partner with the Senior Manager, in planning, recommending, implementing and administering HR policies, practices and programs.
Responsibilities
- Act as first point of contact for assigned employee group
- Advise and support management and employees in the resolution of HR related issues
- Support Management team in the implementation of good HR practices that promote a healthy work environment and support employee growth and development
- Support and guide performance management discussion and team member engagement initiatives
- Work with your counterparts in the other teams and your HR colleagues to identify opportunities and initiatives for improving efficiency across HR.
- Provide day to day HR guidance, hands-on support and informed insight to the Manufacturing Operations teams.
- Development and enhancement of HR metrics and reports for analyzing trends
- Manage and resolve escalated employee relations issues.
- Assist in conducting effective, objective and comprehensive investigations, corrective action recommendation and associated documentation.
- Participate in ongoing HR initiatives, legislative changes and projects for continuous improvement to enhance HR services to the business.
- Collaborate with management on programs to support employee engagement and career growth, including comprehensive new hire follow-up conversations
Qualifications
- Post-secondary education in Human Resources or related field.
- Minimum 3 to 5 years’ experience of relevant Human Resources experience HR Generalist role, preferably in a manufacturing type environment
- Expertise in Ceridian Dayforce HRIS is an asset
- Proficient with MS Office (Excel, PowerPoint and Word).
- Current knowledge of progressive HR practices and trends
- A team player, change agent, project manager and able to manage several demanding clients simultaneously
- Excellent time management skills with the ability to build strong cross-functional relationships
