JK Executive Strategies is proud to partner with a national company, with headquarters in Rochester, New York, in search of a Director of Talent Acquisition to join its team!
The Director or Talent Acquisition (TA) builds and executes the talent acquisition strategy for the Human Resources function in alignment with the overall Company talent strategy to support Company growth, in tandem and under the direction of the Vice President of Human Resources. This newly created role stems from the company’s growth and will be instrumental in leading and engaging a recruiting team as well as perform hands-on talent acquisition responsibilities, including building a pipeline of qualified candidates and ensuring positive hiring manager, candidate and new hire experiences.
The successful candidate must have proven experience working in Talent Acquisition and Recruitment roles, as well as management experience. The Director of TA will possess strong communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
Responsibilities
- Identify the company’s recruitment needs, define objectives and work closely with leadership to determine the hiring strategy.
- Seeks opportunities to leverage technology to automate and streamline the process to improve speed, experience and quality metrics.
- Champions change initiatives that improve the talent acquisition program through constant review and challenging of process, technology and practices.
- Defining hiring criteria, leveraging the due diligence process with the hiring team to ensure there is a strong understanding of the job duties and responsibilities.
- Manage and develop the Talent Acquisition team to successfully engage with hiring managers to have a full-scale understanding of specific job openings.
- Identify and manage various methods to recruit and network with potential candidates including digital board postings, social media platforms, networking events, community outreach, academic institutions, skilled training centers, and job fairs. This includes sourcing passive candidates to prospect for future roles.
- Using standardized screening techniques, will conduct preliminary phone interviews with candidates to assess prior experience, skills, qualifications, interest, personality, and salary requirements of potential candidates.
- Facilitate with negotiation of compensation packages and terms.
- Develop relationships with vendors and staffing agencies to have a strong recruitment process.
- Negotiate and review contracts with vendors.
- Build and maintain successful candidate pipelines for filling vacancies on a timely basis.
- Maintain applicant tracking system with accurate and well-ordered documentation on all candidates and candidate sourcing.
- Actively work toward building diverse and qualified teams to support the Company in all roles.
- Manage the recruitment process for self and team (job postings, employment branding, candidate engagement, applicant phone screens, interview coordination, reference checks, recruitment efforts) through final offers, onboarding.
- Exceed, develop and manage the recruitment metrics, which include candidate engagements-passive/active, submittals, interviews, verbal offers, and time to fill.
- Assist with revising, updating job descriptions as needed.
- Perform other human resources support duties and special projects as assigned.
Requirements
- Bachelors’ degree, preferably in Human Resource Management, preferred – or some college with equivalent Human Resources work experience.
- Certifications in HR (SHRM) or others, preferred.
- 5+ years’ experience in traditional talent acquisition role or capacity, required, plus 5+ years of management experience.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).
- Experience with ATS systems, required.
- Experience with Paylocity, preferred
- Social Media talent acquisition experience (Facebook, LinkedIn, blogs) helpful for enhanced recruitment efforts or will to learn.
- Strong customer service skills to interact with employee’s company-wide, at all levels, and with all applicants.
- Ability to handle confidential information in an appropriate manner.
- Strong oral and written communication skills.
- Detail oriented, with the ability to manage multiple tasks on an ongoing basis.
- Excellent customer service, interpersonal, and communication (written and verbal) skills.
- Excellent organizational, resourceful, problem solving, and time management skills to meet required deadlines.
- Able to work independently as well as support a team.
- Proactive; eager to learn and take on new responsibilities.
- Business Professional with excellent business judgment.
- Must be able to lift 10-15 pounds on occasion.
- Occasional travel for annual conference, training, other events may be required when scheduled.
