AT A GLANCE:
As part of the Broad River Retail’s Human Capital team, the Senior Benefits Specialist assists in the management and administration of company benefit and wellness programs in accordance with state and federal regulations. Overall, provide education, support, and advocacy to our Memory Makers.
POSITION OVERVIEW:
- Administer various benefit programs, including but not limited to group life, medical, dental, accident, disability insurance, 401(k).
- Manages full cycle enrollment/eligibility process including open enrollment, newly eligible employees, reporting and administration
- Engages and supports the relationship with brokers, insurance carriers, and other administrative agencies outside the company to ensure programs are administered effectively
- Create and provide monthly reporting as needed
- Review the Benefits Resource Center to verify up to date and relevant information is available
- Creates and distributes Wellbeing and Project Care communications
- Coordinates as needed with HRIS Analysist and Payroll
- Partners with Human Capital Business Partners on benefits and leave of absence related issues
- Manages employee situations pertaining to Leave of Absence administration which includes Short Term Disability, Long Term Disability, FMLA
- Coordinates communication between employees and managers during a leave
- Coordinates the return-to-work process for employees on leave of absence
- Supports and contributes to Wellness initiatives and events
- Administers, as appropriate, other types of disability (ADA) related leave, reasonable accommodations and support.
- Ensures confidentiality of employee medical and leave records and ensures continued compliance with HIPAA Privacy laws.
- Escalates issues as appropriate.
- Completes special projects as assigned.
NECESARRY EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS:
- Bachelor’s Degree in HR or related field, or equivalent work experience in related mid-level HR fields.
- Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Office (MS Excel, Word, PowerPoint and Outlook)
- Strong computer and analytical skills, to include advanced proficiency with HRIS platforms
- In-depth and up-to-date knowledge of relevant Federal, State, and Local laws and regulations
- Must have a sense of urgency in solving requests to ensure timely resolution and ability to work effectively under pressure
- Demonstrates a high degree of confidentiality and sensitivity to compliance related matters
- Ability to balance the demands of projects, maintenance and support, and internal customer expectations in a fast-paced environment with minimal direction
- Must be self-motivated with the capability to think and act independently
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS:
- FT, Salary exempt position: $50k-$55k/yr
