Field Applications Engineer/ Technical Support, Cellular IoT
Position Overview:
The Field Application Engineer (FAE) / Technical Support will provide comprehensive pre-sale and post-sale technical support for customer software design, circuit design and system development. You will work closely with customers’ design teams, as well as their OEM end-customers, to make sure they are technically supported through the entire design process. You will become a technical expert on Telit’s product portfolio of data-cards.
This position will be customer facing.
Major Duties & Responsibilities:
The FAE will be responsible for providing technical support though all stages of the design process including hardware and software design as well as end product certification. The specific responsibilities of the position will include, but not be limited to:
Customer Support:
- Provide technical/design support for customers / integrators.
- Provide technical support to the sales staff in order to promote the company's products to customer engineers during the design win cycle.
- Prepare and present technical material in customer meetings.
- Provide support to customer engineers during the integration of our products into customers’ products.
Sales Support:
- Provide pre-sales technical support to sales team.
- Conduct training sessions for customers
- Ensure customers and partners are properly supported. Validate through customer visits and strong customer relationships.
Other:
- Focus on customers’ requirements and technical needs to ensure needs are met.
- Interface with internal R&D teams to achieve continuous improvement of product documentation based on customer feedback.
- Help to convey product roadmap needs to internal Product Management teams.
- Other duties or tasks may be assigned on an as-needed basis in order to meet the overall objectives of the Company.
Background & Experience:
- The ideal candidate has worked in the wireless industry with Cellular/IoT experience.
Requirements:
- Four-year engineering degree and 5+ years of wireless and/or embedded design support experience.
- Fluent in English
- Working knowledge and design experience with embedded systems, firmware, development tools, microcontrollers, antenna design and power management.
- Strong written and oral communication skills. Ability to understand customer needs and to probe for answers, determine a solution and explain that solution to the customer.
- Ability to relate to design engineers across various applications.
- Effective presentation skills.
- Time management skills: ability to manage multiple projects and activities at one time.
- Experience working for a Wireless Communications Module Supplier is preferred
Technical Skill:
- Knowledge in 2G, 3G, 4G and 5G 3GPP technologies
- Familiar with RF wireless technology
- Familiar with test tools such as QXDM, QCAT, QPST and Wireshark
- Experience with Linux Operation System
Travel:
- Travel required up to 20%
