Qualifications:
- Demonstrated experience as a Glazing Estimator, with at least 5 years in the glazing or construction sector.
- Comprehensive understanding of glazing systems, façade elements, and construction practices.
- Skilled in estimating software and tools, including Bluebeam, as well as the Microsoft Office Suite.
- Strong analytical and mathematical abilities for precise assessment of project costs and quantities.
- Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal, to effectively engage with clients, vendors, and internal teams.
- Detail-oriented and organized, capable of managing multiple estimates at once.
- Knowledgeable about relevant building codes, regulations, and safety standards.
- Proficient in negotiation to secure competitive pricing from vendors and subcontractors.
- Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel to project sites as needed.
Responsibilities:
- Project Assessments: Analyze project specifications, architectural drawings, and related documents to evaluate the scope of work for glazing projects accurately.
- Cost Estimations: Develop detailed and competitive cost estimates for glazing projects, encompassing materials, labor, equipment, subcontractors, and other related expenses.
- Vendor and Supplier Management: Identify and foster relationships with dependable vendors and suppliers to secure competitive pricing and ensure timely material delivery.
- Quantity Take-offs: Conduct accurate quantity take-offs of glazing materials and components to establish precise project costs.
- Value Engineering: Work with engineering and design teams to propose value engineering options that optimize costs without sacrificing quality.
- Bid Preparation: Create thorough bid packages, ensuring all pertinent details and cost breakdowns are clearly outlined.
- Proposal Submission: Deliver accurate and timely proposals to clients, ensuring adherence to project specifications and bid deadlines.
- Cost Analysis: Review completed projects to compare estimated costs against actual expenses, identifying opportunities for improvement and cost-saving strategies.
- Continuous Improvement: Keep abreast of industry trends, material costs, and glazing techniques to enhance the accuracy and efficiency of estimations.
- Collaboration: Partner with project managers, engineers, and other stakeholders to ensure a smooth transition of projects from estimation to execution.
