Application Integration Engineer
Position Overview
Reporting to the VP of Digital Technologies, this role is responsible for leading the design, development, and implementation of integration solutions that enhance operational efficiency within the transportation sector. The Application Integration Engineer will leverage advanced technical skills to address complex integration challenges, support strategic objectives, and deliver high-quality solutions that align with the organization’s evolving needs. In this role, you will provide technical leadership, guide project teams, and ensure the successful execution of integration projects, contributing to the overall success of the organization.
Key Responsibilities
- Design & Architecture: Lead the design and architecture of scalable, reliable, and secure integration solutions, quickly applying new technologies.
- Development & Implementation: Develop, configure, and implement integrations using middleware tools, APIs, and custom scripting across various technologies and platforms.
- Data Management: Ensure accurate and consistent data exchange between systems, overseeing data mapping, transformation, and migration strategies.
- Automation: Create automated workflows to enhance operational efficiency, adapting to evolving technology landscapes.
- Technical Leadership: Provide guidance to junior engineers and cross-functional teams, driving best practices in integration development and deployment.
- Troubleshooting & Support: Monitor integration performance, troubleshoot issues, and ensure continuous system functionality.
- Documentation: Maintain detailed documentation of integration processes, configurations, and technical specifications.
Required Skills
- Maximo Integration: Experience integrating IBM Maximo with enterprise systems using Maximo Integration Framework (MIF) and REST APIs.
- Integration Platforms: Expertise with integration platforms such as Oracle Integration Cloud (OIC), Workato, Dell Boomi, or similar technologies (OIC strongly preferred).
- API Management: Proficiency in designing and consuming RESTful and SOAP APIs and experience with API management tools.
- Samsara Integration: Familiarity with Samsara fleet management and IoT platform integrations.
- Zonar Integration: Experience with Zonar is a plus, as the company transitions to Samsara.
- Data Transformation & ETL: Strong knowledge of data transformation, ETL processes, and tools such as Talend or Informatica.
- Cloud Platforms: Experience with AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud, particularly in deploying and managing integration services.
- Programming Languages: Proficiency in Java, Python, or JavaScript for developing custom integration scripts.
- Security: Understanding of security protocols such as OAuth, SAML, and encryption standards.
- Version Control: Experience with version control systems like Git and CI/CD pipelines.
Education and Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
- 7+ years of experience in application integration, particularly with Maximo, Oracle OIC, Zonar, or Samsara.
- Proven ability to rapidly learn and adapt to new technologies.
- Strong leadership skills, with experience managing complex projects and guiding teams.
- Excellent problem-solving and communication skills.
- Certification in relevant technologies is a plus.
- Familiarity with Kronos Time Tracking system is also a plus.
