We are seeking a Merchandise Buyer with corporate retail experience managing a significant amount of revenue. This Buyer will lead a small team and must come from fashion, apparel or the accessories industries.
Skills and Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Fashion Merchandising and/or 3-5 year of proven experience as a buyer in a similar role within the apparel industry
- A passion to seek out trends and be able to interpret them for their customer
- Strong analytical skills to assess market trends, sales data, and financial reports
- Excellent negotiation skills to secure favorable terms and prices from suppliers
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills to build and maintain supplier relationships
- Ability to manage multiple tasks, prioritize, and meet deadlines
- Eye for detail to ensure quality and compliance of goods and data entry
- Ability to learn and effectively use inventory management software; proficiency in Excel and Microsoft Office Suite
