This nationally recognized, mid-size firm is growing their business valuation service line and seeking a Valuation Analyst or Associate to help get them to the next level. As a new hire on the Financial Reporting team, you’ll perform a variety of valuations including business valuations, purchase price allocations (ASC 805), impairment testing (ASC 350/ASC 360) and equity compensation (ASC 718/IRC 409a). You'll work across a variety of industries and have the ability to gain exposure to a wide variety of projects.
Working both independently and collectively, you'll join a hard-working team and a group of proactive problem solvers who pride themselves on their ability to develop and maintain relationships with their clients.
Day to day tasks may include:
- Conducting research on clients, competitors, industry and capital markets
- Performing market multiple analysis, comparing financial ratios, and assessing discount rates.
- Build, modify and utilize financial models
- Working with DCF, market multiples, excess earnings method, relief-from-royalty, etc for various purposes including business enterprise and intangible asset valuation
- Research materials on company background, industry dynamics, capital markets data, and valuation analysis and prepare analysis to be reviewed by clients.
- Begin to build relationships with clients
The ideal candidate will have the following experience:
· 1+ years’ experience in a financial analysis role at a valuation or public accounting firm.
· Undergraduate BS or BA, or a Graduate MS or MBA degree in Finance; coursework in valuation or securities analysis a plus
· Advancement towards ASA, CFA, ABV designation preferred
· Proven technical, analytical and problem solving skills
· Demonstrated oral and written communication skills; experience working in a team setting and having interactions with clients
· Ability to manage multiple assignments, prioritize tasks, and handle dynamic, time-sensitive engagements in a team setting
