We are seeking an Industrial Hygiene Technician to join our San Ramon, CA team! Come join us!
Job responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Conduct asbestos, lead-based paint and other hazardous materials surveys.
- Collects environmental and personal samples for analysis, and prepares samples for shipment to laboratory for analysis.
- Provide asbestos and lead-based paint oversight during remediation.
- Collect detailed field notes and photographs to assist project managers with report preparation.
- Prepare chain-of-custody documents for analytical testing, recording survey data on approved forms completely and legibly.
- Ability to compose detailed sample location maps.
- Prepare reports detailing survey/project information including methodology, results and recommendations.
- Use standard equipment, such as hand tools for collection of building material samples, high volume and low volume pumps, rotometer, XRF analyzer, moisture meter, mold pump, infrared camera, IAQ meter.
- Ability to calibrate instruments, use in the field, downloading of data, cleaning, and maintenance of equipment.
- Implement Atlas’s health and safety policies and procedures.
- Approval to drive a company vehicle or rental vehicles – valid Driver’s License and clean driving record.
- Travel locally and regionally to project sites is required; out-of-state travel may be required on occasion.
- Work off-hours and weekends periodically when required.
- Maintain working knowledge of state and federal regulations
- Stay current with regulatory knowledge and field industry trends
- Travel to client sites, including overnight stays periodically as needed
- Perform other related duties as needed
- Communicate effectively with Senior Project/Project Managers, staff, clients and contractors.
- Follow Atlas directives and standards.
- Practice and maintain a safe working environment.
- Studies reference materials and participates in training and development activities
Minimum requirements:
- DOSH Certified Site Surveillance Technician (CSST) or DOSH Certified Asbestos Consultant (CAC) Certification
- CDPH Lead Related Construction Sampling Technician (LRC ST) or CDPH LRC Inspector/Assessor (I/A).
- Valid driver’s license, must meet qualifications to successfully complete DISA/Drug-Alcohol Testing.
- Associate degree, Bachelor's degree, or certificate in project planning, management, environmental sciences, engineering, construction, architecture, industrial hygiene, occupational health or a related science field preferred. Field work experience may be substituted in lieu of science education requirements.
- Must be able to wear a respirator, safety harness, and other personal protective equipment as needed.
- Experience conducting asbestos, lead and mold surveys.
- Experience conducting exposure assessments and hazardous materials oversight.
- Ability to climb stairs/ladders and lift up to 50 pounds, Ability to travel locally up to 50% and have reliable transportation.
Technical requirements:
- Strong technical writing skills
- Microsoft Software and Applications
- Experience in Industrial Hygiene and Building Sciences related practices.
- Knowledge with various Industrial Hygiene and Building Sciences related sampling equipment and protocols.
- Knowledge of federal, state, and local regulations applicable to mold, asbestos, lead, indoor air quality and/or industrial hygiene services required.
Other miscellaneous qualities:
- Ability to climb stairs/ladders and lift up to 50 pounds.
- Ability to travel up to 50%.
- Reliable transportation.
Compensation:
$33 - $40 hourly
The expected salary range for the position is displayed in accordance with the state’s law. Final agreed upon compensation is based upon individual qualifications and experience.
