Job Summary: The Decision Science Analyst provides decision support across the enterprise by applying mathematical, statistical, and innovative quantitative analytical techniques. This role involves gathering, manipulating, and synthesizing data to draw conclusions and make actionable recommendations that drive business change.
Key Responsibilities:
- Collaborative Analysis: Engage with cross-functional teams to understand business objectives and influence solution strategies using business and analytical knowledge.
- Problem Solving: Analyze medium to large-scale business problems that impact current and future business strategies.
- Innovative Approaches: Apply scientific and quantitative analytical methods to draw conclusions and make recommendations that drive change.
- Effective Communication: Translate recommendations into clear communication materials for peer review and presentation to mid-to-upper level management.
- Data Visualization: Use visualization techniques to support analysis points and make them understandable for less technical audiences.
- Data Gathering: Identify and gather high-quality data sources necessary to address business problems through testing or exploratory data analysis (EDA).
- Data Integration: Integrate and transform disparate data sources, applying appropriate data hygiene techniques.
- Documentation: Thoroughly document assumptions, methodologies, validation, and testing to facilitate peer reviews and ensure continuity of work.
- Technology Adoption: Stay updated on emerging technologies that can enhance scientific methodologies and quantitative analytical approaches.
- Influential Reporting: Deliver findings in a manner that conveys understanding, influences management, garners support for recommendations, and drives business decisions and strategy.
Minimum Education:
- Bachelor’s Degree: In Economics, Finance, Statistics, Mathematics, Actuarial Sciences, or another quantitative discipline.
- Master’s Degree: In quantitative analytics or a related field.
- PhD: In quantitative analytics or a related field.
Minimum Experience:
- With a Bachelor’s Degree: 4+ years of experience in a decision support analytic function.
- With a Master’s Degree: 2+ years of experience in a decision support analytic function.
- With a PhD: 1+ year of experience in a decision support analytic function.
Skills and Competencies:
- Demonstrated competency in mathematical and statistical techniques.
- Ability to drive fact-based decision-making.
