Linux Systems Administrator Job in Rochester, Buffalo or Syracuse, New York:
6 month contract with potential extension

Pay Rate Range: $40-50.00 per hour based on experience
The Linux Systems Administrator will be responsible for on-premise and cloud-based infrastructure services, including virtual infrastructure, operating systems, storage, maintenance and security patching, backup and disaster recovery preparedness, and performance monitoring.
This Linux Systems Administrator will also develop scripts required to allow for the quick and seamless delivery of solutions within both cloud and on premise solutions. Design, setup and maintenance of a continuous infrastructure integration stack, including source control, build servers, automated testing, automated monitoring and solution deployment will be required.
Responsibilities of the Linux Systems Administrator Job in Rochester, Buffalo or Syracuse, New York:
Provide expertise in on premise virtual infrastructure, specifically in clustered high availability environments.
Provides assistance in integrating on premise solutions with cloud solutions.
Orchestrates and automates the deployment of solutions hosted on both cloud services and on premise infrastructure.
Performs proactive performance monitoring, analysis, alerting, reporting, and tuning.
Performs maintenance activities including deploying patches and ensuring that firmware and software are up to date.
Performs incident and problem analysis, resolution, and follow-up to ensure platform stability.
Creates, reviews, and maintains technical documentation including solution designs and reference guides
Leads discussions of new products and services that will help enhance the delivery of infrastructure services; engages vendors as appropriate.
Leads, advises on and completes implementation and maintenance activities during business hours as well as outside of business hours.
Qualification of the Linux Systems Administrator Job in Rochester, Buffalo or Syracuse, New York:
Experience managing Linux Red Hat environments
Hands on virtualization experience with VMware
Familiarity with CommVault backup software
Preferred experience with SAML / SSO as well as Oracle Database Installation
