Onward Search is a specialized staffing and talent solutions company that helps professionals find top jobs with the nation’s leading brands. We’re looking to hire a Design System Lead (Product) for a Top Travel/Hospitality/Tourism Brand. This role will function as a Sr/Lead in setting and documenting design standards that keep things consistent and scalable across mobile and web for all brands associated with the parent brand.
This is a contract role that renews in 6 month increments and is planned to be long term.
Hourly rate of $80-90/hr, but please reach out if you have the required experience.
Responsibilities:
- Design System Designer for a multi-brand visual language
- Setting and documenting design standards that keep things consistent and scalable across native mobile and web.
- Bridge between design and engineering, making sure handoffs and communication precise and efficient.
- With a strategic mindset, work with multi-platform design systems
- Use design token systems and their implementation
- Use accessibility standards (WCAG) to implement them in design systems
- Use Native Mobile App Best Practices in Design Systems.
- Must deeply understand and have experience in Documentation in moving Design-to-Engineering Handoff.
Requirements:
- Outstanding Product Design portfolio demonstrating Design System work for Large well known consumer brands. Must be able to show work.
- 8+ years of experience in UX design, with at least 2 years focused on design systems
- Need to be well versed in Design Systems, showing how you managed complex or multi brand design systems
- Familiarity with design token systems and their implementation
- Deep understanding of Native Mobile App Design Systems (React Native)
- Product experience in travel + tourism is a plus, but a portfolio showing consumer brands a plus
- Demonstrated collaboration with cross functional partners
- Ability to critically problem solve
- Knowledge of Accessibility standards
- Understanding of accessibility standards (WCAG) and how to implement them in design systems
- In-depth knowledge of HTML, CSS, and JavaScript (ability to understand and communicate with developers) - how to hand off effective and clean code for system
- Expert Figma user
