Production Supervisor
Our client in the Buffalo, NY area is seeking a Production Supervisor to oversee and coordinate manufacturing processes to ensure efficient production operations while adhering to regulatory and quality standards. This role involves managing people, ensuring safety compliance, conducting quality audits, and driving continuous improvement initiatives within the production department.
Salary Range: $75,000-$95,000 DOE
Responsibilities and Duties:
- Scheduling and Planning: Schedule production and validation protocols, adjust for demand or resource changes, and design room schedules.
- People Management: Consistent policy deployment, including safety, interviewing, discipline, and termination. Develop Team Leaders and Assistant Team Leaders. Ensure all personnel are properly trained, including in cleanroom environments.
- Process and Quality Oversight: Monitor job processes and adherence to validated standards. Verify job paperwork accuracy and completeness. Conduct quality audits and lead improvement plans for changeovers and cell performance.
- Continuous Improvement: Utilize lean manufacturing tools to identify and eliminate waste. Leverage structured problem-solving tools (e.g., A3, Fishbone, 5 Why) for corrective actions.
- Communication and Collaboration: Maintain constant communication with Team Leads and Operations Managers. Handle personnel issues in collaboration with Human Resources.
- Safety Compliance: Ensure all employees comply with safety regulations, conduct accident investigations, safety inspections, and enforce the use of protective equipment.
- Metrics and Accountability: Monitor key business metrics such as safety, quality, delivery, and cost. Ensure adherence to Standard Manufacturing Procedures and defect tracking protocols.
- Professional Conduct: Maintain a professional demeanor, adhere to company policies, and promote a culture of compliance.
Qualifications:
- Technical Skills: Experience with lean manufacturing, Six Sigma (Black Belt preferred). Experience with MRP systems and Microsoft Office Applications.
- Knowledge: Understanding of regulated industries (e.g., FDA, ISO). Preferred knowledge of medical device manufacturing and world-class manufacturing practices.
- Education: Bachelor's degree from a four-year college or university; Engineering degree is a plus.
- Experience: 3-7+ years of experience in people management, planning, scheduling, and working with controlled products, with a strong preference for lean implementation experience.
