Overview:
We are actively partnered with a leading heavy civil contractor with offices located in Houston, Dallas, and San Antonio. They are looking for experienced Estimators to join their team in each office. These positions are open due to the rapid growth of the company. These positions are crucial to contributing to the ongoing success of securing multimillion dollar projects from TxDOT or their respective cities. These projects are typically for highway, bridge, or road oriented.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare detailed cost estimates for heavy civil construction projects, including highways, bridges, and roads, based on drawings, specifications, and other contract documents.
- Lead the preparation of bid proposals, ensuring accuracy, completeness, and competitiveness.
- Analyze project scope, identify potential risks, and develop strategies to mitigate them.
- Solicit and evaluate bids from suppliers and subcontractors, ensuring that all aspects of the project are covered.
- Conduct cost analysis to compare actual costs with estimated costs and provide recommendations for future estimates.
- Communicate effectively with clients, providing detailed explanations of cost estimates and addressing any questions or concerns.
- Work closely with the project management team to align estimates with project execution plans.
- Stay current with industry trends, pricing, and best practices in heavy civil construction.
Qualifications:
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in estimating heavy civil construction projects, with a focus on highways, bridges, and roads.
- Strong understanding of construction methods, materials, and equipment used in heavy civil projects.
- Previous experience working with HCSS Heavybid in a professional capacity.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
- Detail-oriented with a commitment to accuracy and quality.
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field is preferred.
