*This role will require the selected candidate to work onsite 1 day/week in Atlanta, GA. Candidates must be local to the Atlanta area.*
Our client is seeking a Security Engineer focused on vulnerability management to join their cybersecurity team. This role will play a vital part in identifying and mitigating security threats, protecting company assets, and collaborating with internal teams on various security initiatives.
Key Responsibilities:
- Monitor and assess threats and vulnerabilities that could impact security.
- Maintain and optimize threat management solutions, ensuring regular vulnerability scans.
- Identify and remediate weaknesses in networks and software.
- Collaborate with Cybersecurity and IT teams on security protocols.
- Conduct vulnerability assessments and deploy vulnerability management tools.
- Develop and refine agent-based and scanning-based vulnerability management strategies.
- Partner with IT Engineering, Infrastructure, and Development teams to manage vulnerabilities and support remediation efforts.
- Drive continuous improvement in Threat Vulnerability Management (TVM) telemetry.
- Define program roadmaps, provide updates, and track risk management metrics.
- Conduct root cause analysis for vulnerabilities and propose effective solutions.
- Stay updated on cybersecurity trends to maintain a proactive security stance.
Experience and Skills Required:
- Experience: 1-2 years in vulnerability management, endpoint security, or incident response.
- Technical Skills:
- Vulnerability Management with tools like SecureWorks VM (required), Crowdstrike (preferred).
- Cloud security experience, especially with GCP (preferred), though any cloud exposure is a plus.
- Familiarity with working with 3rd party Security Operations Centers (SOC) and accessing logs.
- Experience with ExtraHop or similar tools is beneficial.
- Soft Skills:
- Effective communicator, self-motivated, proactive, and highly engaged.
Certifications:
- Preferred certifications include CISSP or similar cybersecurity qualifications.
