CLA has an immediate need for a litigation paralegal with strong civil trial experience in Raleigh, NC. The ideal candidate will assist attorneys in all stages of the litigation process. This well-respected Plaintiffs’ firm has multiple offices in North Carolina. This personal injury law firm handles many types of cases, including birth injuries, nursing home negligence, product liability, premises liability, car accidents, medical malpractice, catastrophic injuries, sexual assault, social security disability, and workers’ compensation cases. Sample responsibilities:
- Answering case intake calls and interviewing potential clients
- Create initial client files and enter records into case management system
- Maintaining case documents/databases
- Discovery work including drafting and answering interrogatories, requests for production, and requests to admit
- Preparation and serving of Pleadings
- Drafting and serving subpoenas
- Obtaining medical records from clients and healthcare facilities
- Legal Document preparation and drafting including pleadings, motions, trial documents, etc.
- Familiarity with legal terminology and NC Civil Procedure requirements
- Must be comfortable with state and federal e-filing
Minimum requirements and other qualifications:
- Bachelor’s or Associates degree in Paralegal Studies or Paralegal Certificate
- 2-3 years of experience as a litigation paralegal
- 1-3 years of Personal Injury Law firm experience preferred
- Great customer service skills, both in-person and over the phone
- Strong personal work ethic and ability to organize time, manage diverse activities, and meet critical deadlines with minimal supervision
- Excellent writing, editing, and proof-reading skills, with the ability to be detail-oriented
- Strong interpersonal skills and an ability to work collaboratively
