Key Objective of the Role:
Supplier Development and Sourcing:
Responsible for ensuring that the products produced meet Wipro’s quality standards. Maintain the robustness of product builds following new product introductions to ensure continuity and improvement in supplier capability.
Materials and Stores:
Must use SAP to manage the Strategic material planning and Procurement for operational and production Continuity. Working Closely with Internal and external teams to ensure material supply is in place to meet Production requirements. Capable of providing efficient, effective and flexible solutions to meet production requirements, stores control, stores management, inventory control and inventory management is key in this Role.
Education/Experience Requirements:
- Minimum Bachelors Degree in Supply Chain Management or Engineering
- 10+ years of experience in any aspect of Supply Chain Management
- 5+ years Previous Supervisory Experience
- Previous Manufacturing experience preferred
- Prior experience using customer/vendor online portals
- Experience in developing and implementing vendor qualifications.
- Strong knowledge of Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP), Production Part Approval Process (PPAP), Failure Mode and Effect Analysis (FMEA)
- Experience and working knowledge of processes involved in Sourcing and Supply Chain.
- Experience in working in a global organization with regular interaction across multi-disciplinary, multi-cultural work environment.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Requirements:
- Proficient with a personal computer, fax machine, copier, and multi-line telephone. Moderate to extensive knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite Applications and Social Communication Applications such as Skype, MS Lync and Web-Ex, etc.
- Proficient knowledge of SAP or other ERP software application
- Knowledge of steel, cast iron, aluminum, etc. and ability to purchase materials per customer’s requirements
- Understanding and interpretation of engineering drawings
- Excellent organizational, time management and project management skills.
- Strong interpersonal skills and able to work under pressure.
- Ability to analyze data, be resourceful, and initiate proactive timely, well-thought-out decisions.
- High degree of ethics and personal conduct.

Job Description:
Materials and Stores:
· Manage, Guide, and develop a high-performance team that meets the agreed objectives and delivers best practice results
· Define departmental objectives / KPIs and review and evaluate ongoing performance of direct reports.
· Ensure material scheduling strategy and processes are in place and working effectively.
· Ensure material supply meets production requirements with minimum inventory levels.
· Take responsibility for material planning issues that arise, including over- or under-delivery, and take any follow-up actions, especially in the event of material shortages that affect production
· Evaluate volume requirements against planning assumptions
· Manage inventory risk and ensure contingency plans are in place
· Seek and recommend solutions to overcome issues that arise to meet production requirements and address operational risks
· Support continuous improvement initiatives
· Take overall responsibility for the obsolete parts process and ensure the business is left with minimal liability and minimal waste o Ensuring that strategic and operational information, reports, and metrics are available to share with others in the business, as and when required
· Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to forecast, plan, and facilitate on-time materials to the production line as and when required, avoiding production disruptions
· Take the lead on internal and external relations to ensure consistent, timely and effective communication regarding material availability
· Work with cross-functional teams to deliver effective solutions
· Liaise with stakeholders on product change requests and review and communicate the impact on material planning and schedules
· Develop and maintain good relationships with suppliers and ensure demand for materials is met and deliveries are made on time
· Contribute to meetings and negotiations with suppliers to ensure demand for materials is met
· Manage stock levels and make key decisions about stock control
- Audit and report inventory while making recommendations on which items to order and restock
- Establish warehouse / Stores practices and protocols to achieve an efficient warehouse/ Store
· Strategically manage warehouse / Store in compliance with company’s policies and vision
· Oversee receiving, Storage, Material issue and maintenance operations
· Manage stock control and reconcile with data storage system
· Produce reports and statistics regularly.
· Frequent Inventory cycle count / Wall to wall Count and maintain data.
