About the Role:
The Director of Substation Engineering will support the power delivery development, construction, and operations team. Responsibilities include maintaining relationships with engineering consultants, equipment vendors, and construction contractors, providing technical support and guidance for new and existing assets, determining low-cost solutions for new projects, developing project cost/schedule estimates, and managing contracts for safe and efficient project execution.
Responsibilities:
- Support bid solicitations and project development with expertise in substation engineering, procurement, and construction.
- Review design packages, physical layout designs, material specifications, and construction specifications.
- Review protection and control design and electrical studies and reports.
- Evaluate engineering, procurement, and construction factors for cost-effective solutions in a competitive environment.
- Solicit bids, review proposals, and contract with engineering consultants, equipment vendors, and construction contractors.
- Manage engineering, procurement, and construction contracts.
Qualifications:
- BS in Electrical Engineering with 10+ years of power industry experience, with high voltage substation experience.
- Effective time management and organization skills to manage multiple assignments under time constraints.
- Solution-focused with the ability to collaborate effectively with diverse teams.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently with direction on a regular basis.
