AVA Energy is currently partnered with a fast growth community solar company in New York state who are looking for an individual to join as Chief Financial Officer. We are looking for someone with experience in running financial operations within a renewable/EPC environment to build and lead this segment of the business.

Responsibilities
- Financial Oversight: Lead financial operations including accounting, treasury, tax, and financial reporting.
- Project Accounting: Manage cost tracking, revenue recognition, and compliance with solar industry tax credits (e.g., IRA).
- Compliance & Audit: Ensure adherence to GAAP/IFRS, manage internal controls, and support audits.
- FP&A Leadership: Drive financial planning, project modeling, and performance analysis to support growth.
- Risk Management: Oversee financial risk, insurance coverage, and compliance with financial covenants.
Qualifications
- Experience: 10+ years in finance/accounting, with 5+ years in senior leadership roles.
- Industry Knowledge: Expertise in solar/renewable energy project financing and accounting.
- Tax & Compliance: Familiarity with tax incentives (e.g., IRA), GAAP/IFRS, and state-level regulations (e.g., NYSERDA).
- Leadership Skills: Strong team management, mentorship, and ability to scale finance functions.
- Technical Proficiency: Proficient in financial systems (ERP, Excel, Power BI) and reporting tools.
