We are looking for a Repair Yard Drydock Master for work in North Kingstown, Rhode Island.
The Repair Yard Drydock Master must have a broad knowledge of drydock operations. He/she must be familiar with the installation of all outfitting items required. He/she must be capable of reading and understanding drawings and the ability to work off sketches. He/she must be familiar with the techniques used in the proper alignment of components of vessel. He/she must have knowledge of welding and fitting and outfitting to oversee and direct crew responsibilities. He/she must comply with all safety procedures and guidelines, and comply with all company issued policies, procedures, rules, and regulations. He/she must have an excellent work ethic including excellent attendance, punctuality, and the desire to complete designated work in a timely fashion. He/she must be an excellent communicator and be computer literate.
Education/Experience
- Bachelor's degree in marine engineering or equivalent.
- Must have at least 2 years’ experience in Marine construction, preferably Vessel repair.
- Responsible for safety by enforcing safety guidelines and proper use of PPE.
- Responsible for maintaining work schedules.
- Enforces all company policies.
- Trains and develops subordinates.
- Responsible for maintaining proper manpower levels as needed to support schedule and budget.
- Coordinate with Repair Manager for quality issues and inspections.
- Review and maintain production schedules in detail and work with other crafts to maintain delivery dates as required.
- Coordinates with Maintenance and Facilities on any related issues.
- Responsible for area cleanliness.
- Must have good organizational skills and ability to accomplish the required assignments within designated timeframes.
- Must have ability to communicate effectively with different levels of management, craft, and different departments.
- Must have a willingness to learn new techniques.
- Must be detail orientated and have excellent follow up skills.
- Must be a self-starter able to perform job duties with little or no supervision.
- Must be able to meet the work schedule.
- Must be able to maintain a clean work environment.
- Must wear personal protective equipment (PPE) as required by company job hazard analysis.
- Depending on the project, this job classification may require that you be certified and or licensed on equipment, and electric powered forklifts and man lifts.
