We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Senior Credit Analyst to join our dynamic team. In this pivotal role, you will be responsible for assessing and making informed decisions on a continuous stream of credit applications from diverse customer profiles. You will lead a dedicated team focused on underwriting, processing, and managing accounts receivable while effectively communicating credit policies and decisions to various stakeholders. Your analytical skills will play a crucial role in shaping our credit strategies and enhancing our operational efficiency.
Key Responsibilities:
- Credit Evaluation: Review and make credit decisions on a high volume of applications, considering various customer types and loan amounts.
- Team Leadership: Guide and mentor a small team responsible for underwriting, processing, and accounts receivable to ensure accurate and timely credit assessments.
- Stakeholder Communication: Clearly communicate credit decisions and company policies to sales teams, colleagues, and credit applicants, fostering strong relationships.
- Reporting & Analysis: Prepare and present reports on department metrics and credit trends, providing insights to drive strategic decision-making.
- Criteria Enhancement: Collaborate in the ongoing improvement and updating of credit rating criteria to reflect market conditions and risk assessments.
- Documentation Oversight: Ensure the thorough preparation and review of documentation related to credit applications and decisions.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field.
- 3-5 years of experience in commercial and/or consumer underwriting.
- Strong knowledge of secured installment loans and associated risk factors.
- Proven ability to build and maintain relationships with key customers and distributors.
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills to convey complex information to diverse audiences.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel (intermediate to advanced level).
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience working in a captive finance company.
- Prior management experience and the ability to lead a team effectively.
- Familiarity with leasing products.
- Experience presenting to credit committees and/or shareholders.
