The Production Supervisor will assist the Production Manager in efficient and cost-effective use of resources (equipment and personnel) to achieve production and company goals as well as meet customer requirements. They will direct and prioritize production flow through assembly, addressing ENCs, and resolving issues as needed. Organize, monitor, and evaluate the production employees and implement necessary interventions for improvement.
Responsibilities
- Supervise production team members during assembly builds and interface with the Quality & Engineering team to impact design for manufacturability.
- Create an environment where every employee is valued for their contributions so that they understand their impact on the success of the company.
- Monitor that all assemblies follow IPC620 workmanship standards and customer requirements.
- Driving the implementation of Lean Manufacturing processes to eliminate waste and increase efficiency.
- Verify traveler documentation for accuracy (part numbers, revs, quantities, etc.).
- Maintain work area that is clean and organized.
- Maintain safe working environment and report any potential hazards.
- Be punctual in attendance and general work schedule, breaks, and lunch.
- Additional duties may be assigned if required.
Required Skills
- Ability to work with hand tools, inspection and measuring equipment without limitations.
- Ability to read manufacturing instructions, assembly drawings and electrical schematics.
- Proficient computer skills.
- Effectively supervise and lead others within the department to meet organization goals and objectives.
- Familiar with wire processing equipment (cut, strip, label, coil, crimp, etc.)
- Fully abide by ISC policies and procedures
- Speak and Read English (bilingual is preferred)
- Strong public speaking, presentation, and organizational skills
- Good vision and hearing
- Strong understanding of Metrology and Arithmetic
- Strong computer and software skills (Microsoft office, Outlook preferred) and ERP.
- Must be able to motivate and work well with people
- Six Sigma and lean experience
- 3+ years of experience within the custom cable manufacturing industry
- Excellent understanding of IPC 620 standards
Qualifications
- Associates degree or higher or 5+ years of specific industry experience.
- 3+ years of working in a contract manufacturing setting
- Familiar with PPAP, PDP, FMEA and DFM
- Familiar with Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma methodology
Physical Demands
- Be able to lift, carry, push, and pull up to 50 pounds unassisted. Beyond this will require the buddy system or lifting device.
- Ability to stay on feet for prolonged periods of time and mobility to get around facility without limitations.
- Ability to sit and work at a station for prolonged periods of time without limitation.
- Achieve daily tasks which require repetitive use of hands and other body parts.
