Job Description:
We are looking for an enthusiastic and motivated Field Engineer with 1-2 years of experience in wastewater or heavy civil construction to join our team for projects in the Union City, CA area. This role is an excellent opportunity to work hands-on in a fast-paced construction environment, supporting project management and field operations. The ideal candidate will assist with daily project coordination, ensuring the timely and efficient completion of key project phases while maintaining the highest safety and quality standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist the Project Manager and Superintendent with daily construction activities on wastewater or heavy civil projects.
- Monitor field operations to ensure compliance with project specifications, schedules, and safety protocols.
- Support project documentation efforts, including daily reports, RFI (Request for Information) logs, and submittal tracking.
- Aid in the coordination and supervision of subcontractors and vendors to ensure work is executed as per design and timeline.
- Review and interpret blueprints, drawings, and specifications to assist in project execution.
- Work closely with field personnel to ensure all work is completed per plans, specifications, and quality standards.
- Track material deliveries, manage inventory, and coordinate on-site logistics.
- Assist with job site safety management, ensuring OSHA and company safety guidelines are followed.
- Troubleshoot and resolve field issues as they arise in coordination with the project team.
- Attend project meetings and provide updates on field progress and challenges.
Qualifications:
- 1-2 years of experience in wastewater, heavy civil, or similar infrastructure projects.
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field (preferred but not required).
- Strong understanding of construction methods, materials, and equipment.
- Basic knowledge of surveying, earthwork, and concrete in a civil construction context.
- Proficiency in construction management software and Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, etc.).
- Ability to read and understand construction plans and specifications.
- Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Knowledge of safety protocols and willingness to enforce job site safety standards.
- OSHA 10 certification (or willingness to obtain).
- Must be local or willing to relocate to the Union City, CA area.
