Our Staff Accountant at BlueStar Central Services is responsible for maintaining accurate accounting records for specified properties.
BlueStar Resort & Golf – Central Services Main Office
BlueStar is a boutique management firm focused on supporting developers, asset managers, and community Boards in the successful operation of their resort and golf amenities. Our expertise is in all aspects of hospitality management, including golf, spa, food & beverage, community clubs, and more, particularly in active adult or age-qualified residential communities. We also provide full-scale landscape services in some locations. Our portfolio spans literally from coast to coast, with many beautiful locations in between.
Where: Located in Scottsdale, Arizona
Pay: $72,000 - $75,000 annual
Benefits:
- New management full-time team members working 30 hours or more per week, will be eligible for the Company medical, dental and life insurance plans the first of the month following the first day of full-time employment.
- Full-Time team members are eligible to accrue Paid Time Off (“PTO”) in accordance with the Company policy at a rate of 120 hours per year.
- Full-Time team members are eligible for 7 paid holidays annually.

POSITION OVERVIEW:
The Staff Accountant reports to the Assistant Director of Finance with responsibility for maintaining accounting records and other key responsibilities noted below.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Communicate the core values and mission of BlueStar Resort & Golf (BSGR) to support the achievement of company goals.
- Maintain effective communication with all team members to maintain a smooth, informed, and consistent atmosphere related to office functions.
- Daily interaction with clients, with high degree of customer service.
- Maintain accurate financial data.
- Track and control daily banking activity.
- Accounts payable processing.
- Daily revenue and reporting.
- Monitor and reconcile credit card activity.
- Maintain fixed asset records and related support.
- Balance sheet account reconciliation.
- Prepare and process sales tax returns.
- Other duties and responsibilities may be assigned.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS / QUALIFICATIONS / SKILLS:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Business Administration required.
- One to three years’ related accounting experience preferred.
- Computer literate with proficient knowledge of Microsoft Office, including Excel.
- Previous experience or interest in learning the hospitality industry.
- JD Edwards accounting software is highly desirable.
- Understanding of GAAP guidelines (general accepted accounting principles).
- Effective written and verbal communication skills.
- Must have strong analytical, organizational, interpersonal and communication skills, with excellent customer services skills and an ability to respond to the needs and requests of coworkers and clients.
- Must be able to consistently achieve high work standards; attention to detail, accuracy, and timeliness.
- Must demonstrate initiative, with an ability to think, work, solve practical problems, and make independent decisions based on sound judgment.
- Must be comfortable working in a fast-paced environment where continuous improvement is expected.
- This position requires a flexible schedule to include evenings and weekends.
WORK ENVIRONMENT:
This position operates in a professional indoor office environment and routinely uses standard office equipment, such as computers, phones, copy and fax machines. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
