Maven Royalty Partners specializes in acquiring mineral and royalty interests in unconventional resource plays throughout the United States. MRP manages a family of funds structured to make direct investments on behalf of its investors. The company is a Registered Investment Advisor that oversees hundreds of millions in capital and assets.
We are a small, but growing, team that prides ourselves in doing excellent work and making intelligent investment decisions to create superb returns for our investors. We are looking to add depth to our finance department by hiring a Financial Analyst.
The ideal candidate is currently a Financial Analyst in the oil and gas industry and desires to live in the Shreveport-Bossier City area of Louisiana. They work well under pressure. They are organized, dependable, and detail oriented. They are looking to join a small company and don’t mind wearing a few different hats from time to time.
We will also consider training inexperienced candidates that have a finance background (from other industries or education).
Relevant skills, knowledge, and experience
- Degree in accounting or finance, master’s or MBA is a plus
- Ability to excel under pressure Detail-oriented with the ability to step back and see the big picture
- Desired exposure to oil and gas or private equity
- Ability to work independently while functioning as part of a team
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Analytical mind that doesn’t stop until a project is complete
- Proven proficiency in Microsoft products, especially Excel, PowerPoint, and PowerBI
Potential roles and responsibilities (will depend on experience)
- Analyze royalty payments to ensure companies are being paid correctly
- Organize data so that reports and analysis can be refreshed quickly
- Create monthly and quarterly summary reports for clients and investors
- Assist with the firm’s asset divestment process
- Create and manage financial models for investments
- Refresh and review data models and reports in PowerBI
- Develop and maintain board and investor presentations
- Assist with writing quarterly Management letters to investors
- Keep a pulse on mineral and royalty transactions in the oil and gas space
