OverviewProvide instruction in activities of daily living, adjustment to vision loss, assistive technology and low vision for clients with severe to total vision loss to maximize independence, safety and quality of life. The majority of training and services are provided itinerantly throughout Alachua County
Must successfully pass an AHCA Level 2 screening for this position
QualificationsMinimum Education and Experience Requirements
Bachelor's Degree or Master's Degree emphasizing Vision Rehabilitation from an accredited university. Minimum of 350 hours internship under the supervision of a Certified Vision Rehabilitation Therapist, Orientation and Mobility Specialist, Low Vision Therapist or Teacher of the Visually Impaired.
Motor Vehicle Operator Designation
Employee in this position:
Will operate vehicles for an assigned business purpose as a 'Frequent driver'
Licensure/Certification/Registration
Certification as a Vision Rehabilitation Therapist from the Academy for Certification of Vision Rehabilitation and Education Professionals (ACVREP), and valid driver's license. Individuals with certification as an Orientation and Mobility Specialist, Low Vision Therapist or Teacher of the Visually Impaired may also be considered.
