Position Overview:
Our client is seeking an experienced and dynamic Quality Manager to take the reins of the quality function at a critical production facility in the Greater Grand Rapids area. In this role, you will lead a large, diverse team, champion food safety, and ensure operational excellence by implementing robust quality systems. This is a highly visible leadership position within the plant, and the right candidate will possess exceptional problem-solving abilities and a passion for continuous improvement.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and inspire the Quality Assurance and Sanitation teams to meet and exceed product quality standards.
- Develop, implement, and maintain industry-best quality systems, including HACCP and PCQI programs.
- Utilize root cause analysis (RCA) and manage corrective and preventive actions (CAPA) to drive sustainable solutions.
- Collaborate closely with production and operations teams to ensure seamless compliance with regulatory and customer requirements.
- Stay ahead of food safety regulations, ensuring the plant is audit-ready and aligned with FDA, USDA, and other industry standards.
- Foster a positive, learning-oriented team culture with a focus on accountability, continuous improvement, and high performance.
Required Qualifications:
- Proven leadership experience managing large teams in food production or CPG environments.
- Expertise in food safety programs, with certifications in HACCP and PCQI.
- Strong experience in RCA and CAPA methodologies to address and prevent quality issues.
- In-depth knowledge of FDA, USDA, and other industry regulations.
- Outstanding communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Bachelor’s degree in Food Science, Quality Management, or a related field (required).
