SUMMARY: Title I School-Based Itinerate Guest Teachers are an integral part of the Jeffco team to ensure there is a quality teacher in every classroom. Responsible for the delivery of specified course content in the absence of the classroom teacher. Responsible for providing a safe educational atmosphere where students have the opportunity to fulfill their potential for intellectual, emotional, and psychological growth. Title I School-Based Itinerant Guest Teachers work for the full school year at an assigned duo of Title I schools.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
- Collaborate with school leaders at assigned trio of schools to determine weekly coverage responsibilities, school location, etc.
- Follow defined lesson plans set forth by the classroom teacher.
- Provide an impromptu lesson plan or activity in the absence of a teacher provided lesson plan.
- Assist students with their coursework and communicate assignment expectations.
- Adapt instructional approach to the individual needs of the students.
- Provide a safe learning environment and deploy proper classroom management strategies.
- Collaborate with other instructional staff, including social workers, speech language pathologists, Special Education teachers, etc., as needed.
- Perform teaching related duties of the assigned school including covering another class during an absent teacher's planning period, lunchroom duty, hall duty, bus duty and/or playground duty.
- Assist with school-wide assessments including CSAP, ACT, and Acuity if necessary.
- Willing to travel in and between an assigned trio of schools.
- Perform other duties as assigned.

EXPERIENCE Previous teaching experience preferred. Other experience working with children in a learning environment will be considered.
EDUCATION AND TRAINING High school diploma.
SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE, & EQUIPMENT Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Ability to effectively and efficiently use technology and information literacy in instruction. Willingness to learn new technology. Must be flexible and have capacity for dealing with ambiguity.
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, & REGISTRATIONS: 1, 3, or 5 year Substitute Authorization with Colorado Department of Education OR a Colorado Initial or Professional teaching license.
