About Team:
Personalization team at Walmart develops and manages large scale interfaces using Machine Learning and Online inference algorithms. The experience for millions of customers is catered to their preferences and purchase patterns allowing them to quickly complete their buying experience. While doing so, we look to build a trusted partnership with the customers. This team works on large scale data systems and infers about customer's engagement through their journey, seasons and online activities. We are looking for a Senior Software Engineer Software Engineer who will be developing key features around personalizing membership experiences. The Engineer would be interacting with product owners to build systems that can scale to support the customer eligibilities and enable the data science models.
What you'll do:
• Design, build, and maintain highly scalable APIs to provide a rich personalized experience for the Walmart Member. Strong knowledge of Java or Python, Spring, Tomcat, Maven, Kubernetes is needed for the same.
• Develop code leveraging the latest state of the art machine learning algorithms with high reusability to delivery relevant, cohesive experience to customers.
• Leverage NoSQL knowledge to build high read-tolerant, resilient APIs that can scale to large volume of traffic.
• Work on the business requirements and come up with good design and breakdowns to assess the changes. Furthermore, look to leverage the current platform more and enhance where possible to meet the requirements.
• Work closely with other engineers to complete tasks breakdowns and meet the feature timelines. This will need good communication within and outside the team.
• Analyze defects from past projects/solutions to avoid recurrence of similar defects.
• Analyze system performance impacting the complete product for non-functional requirements like reliability, operability, performance efficiency and security. Troubleshoot performance and availability bottlenecks for the application.
• Develop, maintain, and enhance automated test cases and deployment procedures.
• Follow coding and design best practices developed by the teams and contribute towards their continuous improvement.
What you'll bring:
• Strong programming experience in Java or Python.
• Experience with cloud application development including scalable, data driven, and message-oriented architecture.
• Knowledge of Machine Learning and LLM frameworks a huge plus.
• Experience designing scalable microservice APIs leveraging latest design patterns.
• Experience designing APIs leveraging data structure and algorithms knowledge.
• Experience working on cloud scale massive relational and No-SQL databases like Cassandra, Couchbase, Solr.
• Experience with code repositories and version control practices.
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines and best practices. Automated deployment experience is a plus.
• Experience in software quality and operational excellence practices.
• Experience in agile development methodology.
• Must have good communication skills including being more pro-active.
