A leading education law firm in California is seeking a skilled Legal Secretary to join their collegial team in the Los Angeles office. This role is essential for providing legal and administrative support to multiple attorneys, requiring a proactive individual who can work independently and maintain the highest level of professionalism.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage files and produce legal documents efficiently.
- E-file extensively in administrative, state, and federal courts.
- Draft, proofread, and edit correspondence and legal documents.
- Communicate effectively with clients, courts, and attorneys.
- Maintain knowledge of court rules and civil procedures in both state and federal jurisdictions.
- Utilize legal calendaring software (Juralaw and others) to manage deadlines and appointments.
- Oversee multiple calendars, appointments, and travel arrangements.
- Prepare travel and expense reimbursements.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or GED required; Associate's or Bachelor's degree preferred.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and familiar with timekeeping software (Coyote) and document management systems (iManage or similar).
- Minimum of 2 years of experience as a litigation secretary, supporting multiple attorneys; knowledge of transactional law and administrative hearings is a plus.
