Aureon Consulting has an immediate need for a Sr Project Manager who can report to an office in Des Moines, Iowa 4 days a week. Client prefers prior experience supporting large scale IT initiatives designed to drive business growth, operational optimization, and system implementations. Previous Life/Annuity industry experience is strongly preferred.

The Senior Project Manager will lead multiple complex projects for Operations, supporting business and IT initiatives aimed at driving business growth, operational optimization, and system implementations. This role requires exceptional leadership in managing cross-functional IT/business resources to ensure the successful delivery of critical projects.
Primary Responsibilities
· Facilitate the advancement of multiple parallel work streams while managing cross-functional resources for Operations projects.
· Lead multiple large, complex projects with accelerated timelines, using Agile/Iterative methodologies.
· Deliver measurable outcomes through project leadership and coordination.
· Manage project resource demand and allocations in line with EPMO metrics.
· Oversee the full project lifecycle, from initiation through delivery and project close, ensuring adherence to scope, cost, and schedules as outlined in the project plan.
· Participate in the PM community of practice, ensuring process changes are communicated and followed across the PM team.
· Assist in Portfolio Approval Committee (PAC) preparation and overall PM governance, contributing to Agile roadmap delivery.
· Lead stage gate planning, forecasting, and delivery, focusing on cross-functional priorities and portfolio objectives.
· Prepare Project Steering Group materials and prioritize initiatives across the vertical; serve as a mentor to other PMs in the team.
· Develop and maintain the roadmap for initiatives within vertical/horizontal and cross-functional dependencies with other areas/projects.
· Collaborate with the PMO to ensure consistent delivery across the IT organization.
Qualifications
Finance and/or accounting background needed.
Prior experience in Finance reporting and process oriented
6+ years of progressive responsibility and success within Project Management.
2+ years of Project Management experience in a cross-functional Agile environment.
Experience with large system implementations or upgrades preferred.
Previous insurance or financial services experience preferred.
Strong understanding of Project Management and SDLC processes.
Experience with Atlassian Jira preferred.
