An individual with the experience, skills, and knowledge to support survey data analysis and calculations, deed and record document analysis, drafting survey plats and exhibits, and communicating with survey crews and project managers to fully complete all assigned survey projects.
This position would be involved in projects that include boundary surveys, topographic surveys, ALTA/NSPS Land Title surveys, route surveys, control surveys, construction staking, record as-built surveys, and any other surveys that are assigned to the project team. The majority of these projects will be associated with the renewable energy sector in multiple states, based on the candidate’s experience.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Effectively communicate on all assigned projects and be a team player.
- Possess the ability to perform in the renewable energy sector and on most types of surveys.
- Download, process, and provide quality control checks on any type of survey data.
- Analyze, reduce, and adjust differential levels, conventional data, and GPS survey data.
- Prepare point calculations, stakeout plots, and upload files for field crew staking.
- Perform PLSS and parcel research, acquiring monument records, recorded plats, deeds, right of ways, easements, NGS control points, benchmarks, publicly available GIS data, etc.
- Maintain all survey files in the appropriate file structures and ensure that all company drafting standards are upheld.
- Prepare and review boundary survey plats, easement plats, ALTA/NSPS Land Title surveys, and various other survey deliverables per LWS specifications.
- Must demonstrate clear commitment to delivering excellent customer service exemplified by the finished work product, be it a support service or tangible end-product.
- Coordinate with survey field crews and provide field support when needed.
- Work under the direct supervision of a Professional Land Surveyor to ensure all project requirements meet/exceed minimum state standards.
SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:
- Proficient with Carlson and/or Autodesk Civil 3D.
- Proficient with Trimble Business Center (TBC).
- Solid understanding of field and office land surveying tasks, methods, and procedures.
- Familiarity with multiple horizontal and vertical datums, including state plane coordinates and local networks.
- Proficient with importing field data into CAD, creating and editing surface models, adding breaklines, creating contours, and calculating volumes.
- Ability to read and interpret multiple types of design plans and drawings.
- Ability to work on multiple projects in a fast-paced project environment, adhering to client deadlines.
- Minimum three (3) years of land surveying related experience is required.
- Survey field crew experience is preferred.
- Experience with Trimble field products is preferred.
- Experience with GIS related data and platforms is preferred.
- Experience heavy in boundary and civil engineering deliverables (typical of renewable energy sector) is preferred.
