Description
The Corporate Relations Manager will lead the organization’s overall efforts to identify, develop, and manage strategic relationships with companies whose interests are focused on the policy/advocacy mission, up to and including companies on the CalChamber Board of Directors. Directs the execution of the business development vision, strategy, plans, and processes to drive sales, increase revenue (dues and non-dues), expand markets, and accomplish financial objectives with member companies in the policy arena.
Responsibilities
- Identify prospective members to join at the advocate level through research, and develop/implement strategy to acquire new members
- Implements partnerships with stakeholders across the organization to identify prospective members at the advocate level and to renew existing members
- Monitors results and outcomes of the policy team to utilize in acquiring new members and retaining existing members
- Have an expert understanding of CalChamber’s products and services
- Meets with members and prospective members to create and foster relationships; Answer questions members may have regarding membership benefits and develop a strategy to build relationships with existing members by checking in on them, sending them relevant information, assisting them with any questions or needs, and making sure they are satisfied with their membership.
Qualifications
- Minimum of 5 years of sales experience (intangible sales primarily)
- Face-to-face sales skills (travel may be required), as well as phone/virtual meeting sales skills
- Ability to write well/grammatically correct and speak effectively with all levels of management in a “one to one” selling style
- Organized and self-disciplined to work with minimal supervision and actively manage sales funnel
- Ability to use personal computer and standard business software (Microsoft Office Suite – Word, Excel and Outlook primarily)
- Ability to use CRM software (salesforce primarily)
- Ability to use current virtual meeting platforms (Microsoft Teams, Zoom, Google Meets)
- Willingness to learn new product or service offerings and coachable on sales techniques
