Gastroenterologist Locums Job in Central Alabama Seeking 7-10 Days per Month of Coverage

OPEN DATES in 2025:(Seeking a minimum of 4-5 consecutive days and up to 7-10 days at a time within the below stretches)
All of January is open
February 1 at 7A - February 14 at 7A
February 24 at 7A March 21 at 7A
March 24 at 4P March 31 at 7A
April 14 at 7A May 2 at 7A
Will have ongoing needs of 14-21 days per month ongoing
Schedule details:
Endo-suite/scopes are done each weekday, Monday Friday (starting as early as 7A and ending around 1-2 latest)
Endo-suite volume: Anticipate minimum of colonoscopies per day while in the endo-suite
Endo-suite support staff: Will work with a high functioning staff who prep patients at the tail end of each case so that you can immediately go into the next room as you pace through each case
After hours call/weekend call: Once finished in the endo-suite, can anticipate being on call (covering the ED) and handling emergent procedures, seeing new consults + doing patient rounding as needed
Details/Requirements for Assignment :
Active Alabama medical license + current Board Certification required (open to candidates who can obtain quick licensure via the IMLC)
Fellowship training preferred; ERCP/EUS is not required
Will never be the solo-GI at the hospital during the day; Will work alongside of a minimum of 1 GI and sometimes 2 staffed GIs in the hospital setting
Procedures to anticipate: EGD, colons & motility (advanced knowledge on motility is not required)
MUST be comfortable with doing a minimum of 10 cases in the endo-suite each day to be considered
Facility requires a minimum of 6 hours of work being included in your daily rate due to each work day averaging between 6-10 hours of work
Rounding will take an average of 3-4 hours per day; Will be called back into the facility 1-2x per day after rounding
Volume averaging around 13-17 patients per day in total (total includes all: scopes in endo-suite, rounding, new admissions, consults, etc.)
150+ bed facility, not a designated trauma center, Cerner EMR inpatient & G-Gastro in endo-suite
