Gridiron IT is seeking an Amazon Web Services (AWS) Cloud Engineer to act as a member of an application development team working with Amazon Services to develop business applications in support of a government customer onsite in Chantilly, VA. The cloud engineer will collaborate with developers, system administrators, Scrum masters, testers, and customers to define requirements, implement cloud-based solutions, and refine cloud systems. This position will also require providing support and troubleshooting issues with existing production cloud environments. MUST HAVE ACTIVE TS/SCI CI Polygraph
Responsibilities
- Responsible for researching, designing, developing and/or modifying AWS cloud systems.
- Responsible for engineering, configuring, testing, and implementing cloud services to support web applications and the hosting environment.
- Responsible for proposing new cloud services that can be leveraged to benefit the customer’s applications.
- Responsible for ensuring the implementation of all cloud services is being performed in accordance with industry best practices.
- Responsible for ensuring the implementation of all cloud services is being performed in accordance with customer’s required security controls and security best practices.
- Responsible for ensuring the implementation of all cloud services is being performed in the most cost-efficient manner possible.
- Responsible for writing scripts to configure, implement, and leverage cloud services.
- Responsible for working with software developers and system administrators to troubleshoot issues within cloud environment and services.
- Responsible for working with other customer organizations to activate, configure, or troubleshoot cloud services.
- Qualifications: An active TS/SCI clearance with CI Polygraph is required to begin employment.
- AWS Certification (Solutions Architect or SysOps Administrator).
- Experience with utilizing Amazon Web Services to create cloud-based applications such as (but not limited to) Lambda, SWF, SNS, SQS, Elasticsearch, CloudWatch, CloudFormation, S3, RDS, and Bedrock.
- Scripting experience using JSON, PowerShell, or other coding as required.
- 3+ years relevant cloud engineering experience.
- 7+ years systems/software engineering experience.
- Bachelor’s Degree or higher in Computer Science, Information Systems, or similar.
- Ability to manage multiple priority tasks.
- Self-motivated task identification.
