Job Summary
We seek an experienced and detail-oriented Controls Assistant Project Manager to join our San Francisco, CA team. In this role, you will be pivotal in overseeing the implementation and management of building automation systems (BAS) and controls for various commercial projects. Your technical expertise will ensure the successful coordination of HVAC, DDC, and BACnet control systems, contributing to the efficiency and sustainability of building operations. This position requires a blend of project management skills and advanced technical knowledge to lead teams and manage client relationships.
Key Responsibilities
- Coordinating control system projects, including scheduling, budgeting, and team leadership, ensuring all tasks are completed on time and within scope.
- Oversee and support the design, installation, and commissioning of Direct Digital Control (DDC) systems, BACnet protocols, and other building automation systems.
- Leverage proficiency with AutoCAD, Visio, and BAS platforms such as Tridium Niagara, ALC, Johnson Controls Metasys, and Schneider Electric to ensure optimal system performance.
- Work closely with engineering teams, contractors, and clients to deliver project updates and resolve technical issues. Ensure the highest quality standards are maintained throughout the project lifecycle.
- Demonstrate a stable and consistent work history in the local market, reflecting reliability and a strong track record in project management within the commercial mechanical construction industry.
Qualifications
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in controls project management, with a proven ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously.
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field is required. An EIT or PE license is preferred but optional.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD and Visio, familiarity with BACnet, DDC controls, and various BAS platforms such as Tridium Niagara, ALC, and Johnson Controls Metasys.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to effectively present project updates and technical details to diverse audiences.
- A local and stable work history is necessary, as it demonstrates a commitment to the region and the industry.
