Overview: Company Name Services, a fast-growing commercial insurance company, has an immediate need for an Auto Property Damage (Liability) Claims Adjuster in our Southlake, TX office. The Auto Property Damage (Liability) Claims Adjuster will be responsible for establishing coverage, facts of loss, determining liability position based on degree of negligence, coordinating repairs, communicating effectively and timely with involved parties. In this position, you will administer and resolve claims in a timely manner in accordance with legal statutes, policy provisions, and company guidelines.
Responsibilities:
The Claims Adjuster role will be responsible for delivering consistent service quality throughout the claim life cycle, including but not limited to prompt contact, explaining the process, setting expectations, on-going communication, follows-through and meeting commitments to achieve optimal outcome on every file.
- Handles all assigned claims promptly and effectively which may include complicated and catastrophic losses. Makes decisions within outlined authority and recommends settlement values in the disposition of the claim.
- Generally, license(s) must be obtained within three months of starting the job and obtain ongoing continuing education credits as mandated
- Participates in on-going training sessions for the inside auto business
- Assist as necessary in providing claim status to agents, insureds, coverage verification, escalations, etc.
- Work to continuously improve our claim operation and look at opportunity gaps in claim service, handling, protocols, and processes.
- Reviews and analyzes coverage and applies policy conditions, provisions, exclusions and endorsements for Auto Damage only claims in assigned jurisdictions
- Manages file inventory and expense reserves by utilizing an effective diary system, documenting claim file activities to resolve claim in a timely manner
- Maintains oversight of the repair process and ensures appropriate expense handling
- As appropriate, writes denial letters, Reservation of Rights and other necessary correspondence to insureds, agents, and claimants
Qualifications:
- Strong attention to detail
- Ability to read and interpret policy language.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to manage, prioritize, and balance workload in a fast paced environment.
- Good analytical abilities to review, exercise judgment and evaluate claims in order to make sound decisions
- Ability to communicate effectively and clearly, both orally and in writing
- Ability to effectively operate computer equipment and applications
- Demonstrated ownership attitude and customer centric response to all assigned tasks
- 1 year of prior claim adjusting experience with handling third party auto liability claims (preferred)
- Must possess, or have the ability to obtain, a Texas Adjuster’s license and reciprocal licensing as needed.
- Requires ability to negotiate claims and resolve within authority
- Must be able to clearly communicate coverage and liability positions with alternate carriers, customers, arbitrators, auditors and attorneys.
