Job Title: Business Development Representative(Third-Party Logistics)

Job Summary:
The Business Development Representative is vital to driving new sales initiatives and managing the daily operations of freight shipments and customer accounts. This role focuses on delivering outstanding service, fostering team morale, and maintaining a positive work environment. The Account Manager is responsible for building client trust, achieving above-average revenue and profit margins, and ensuring the branch meets its annual goals and objectives. Key responsibilities include freight sales, customer pricing, carrier negotiations, and various operational tasks.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Generate new customer sales through proactive prospecting techniques.
- Build and maintain sustainable customer relationships to encourage growth.
- Provide cost-effective solutions to attract and retain clients.
- Oversee the brokerage and customer service aspects of assigned shipments and accounts.
- Communicate effectively with customers, carriers, operations staff, and internal teams.
- Offer support to customers regarding pricing, operations, and payment-related issues.
- Manage spot pricing and negotiate terms with carriers.
- Conduct on-site visits to customers as needed to strengthen relationships.
- Collaborate closely with transportation coordinators on brokerage activities and provide constructive feedback.
- Participate in pricing negotiations, Requests for Proposals (RFPs), and Requests for Information (RFIs).
Qualifications/Skills & Abilities:
- 2+ years of experience in brokerage operations.
- Strong skills in business development, sales, and highway services.
- Proficient in organization, communication, conflict resolution, and time management.
- Basic computer skills, including Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and data entry.
- Familiarity with Registry Monitoring Insurance Services (RMIS) is a plus.
- Experience with Transportation Management Systems (TMS) is advantageous.
- Ability to work collaboratively and positively influence colleagues.
- Strong professional communication skills via phone and email.
- Capable of producing clear oral and written reports, business correspondence, and presentations for customers, team members, and management.
- Ability to interpret and follow instructions in various formats (written, oral, diagram, or schedule).
