Scope:
We are seeking a motivated and experienced Fuel Sales Representative to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in sales, a strong understanding of the fuel industry, and a passion for delivering exceptional customer service. This individual will be expected to generate new relationships and to negotiate best in class opportunities, by providing services and solutions to customers, achieving sales volumes and profitability goals, and always keeping corporate strategic goals top of mind.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with new and existing clients.
- Manage all sales and marketing activities of territory to maximize profit and volume potential.
- Provide expert advice on fleet fueling, generator fueling, job site fuel deliveries, wholesale petroleum products, and lubricants.
- Implement marketing strategies developed by the company and brand partners; provide feedback on market trends and industry conditions.
- Proactively monitor existing accounts for new opportunities or to ensure organic growth.
- Negotiate contract terms with key performance indicators in mind.
- Prepare and present proposals, communicating credit terms and delivery policies.
- Demonstrate persistence and tenacity through follow-up calls and visits.
- Operate within established credit and financial guidelines to protect company assets and receivables.
- Support and contribute to team sales initiatives where applicable by participating in various company tradeshows and select industry conferences.
- Collaborate with the team to develop effective sales strategies.
- Prepare and present sales reports to management.
Qualifications:
- 5+ years of experience within commercial fuel sales or a related industry.
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills
- Ability to build and maintain strong customer relationships
- Proficient in Microsoft Office software including Word, PowerPoint and Excel.
- Strong knowledge of fleet fueling, generator fueling, job site fuel deliveries, wholesale petroleum products, and lubricants.
- Knowledge and experience of petroleum product supply and distribution, refining, marketing or trading including an understanding of the factors influencing supply, demand, and pricing of petroleum products preferred.
- Ability to evaluate all aspects of a purchase, exchange or processing agreement and negotiate the best deal possible.
- Self-motivated with a results-driven approach.
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
