Titan America has an excellent opportunity for a Structural/Civil Engineer joining the Corporate Engineering team, located in Roanoke, VA. This exempt position will be responsible for providing technical support and engineering assistance to TA Mid Atlantic facilities.
This position requires 10%-40% travel depending on the ongoing projects.
Responsibilities include:
- Provide Structural Engineering support to the maintenance department for periodic inspection and auditing of all TA facilities in Mid Atlantic to review condition and propose any additional inspections, necessary repairs and/or upgrades of existing structures.
- Prepare budget estimates, time schedule, as well as project logistics in cooperation with the operation team and present to the business unit for review
- Report project progress to stakeholders on a monthly basis
- Provide Structural Engineering support to the Project Management team during design and construction phases of new development projects in Mid Atlantic
- Provide input to Project Managers regarding budget and time schedule preparation related to Civil/Structural portions of projects
- Supervise site and soil survey works to assist in the proper design and engineering of foundations
- Assist the Project Manager during the permitting and site development phases
- Prepare all necessary scopes of work for Civil/Structural portion of projects , perform bid evaluation, create purchase requisition, and keep track of invoices and financial of the project
- Review the design of the third-party consultants to ensure code compliance of all new buildings and installations and work with Project Managers to issue all necessary building and occupancy permits
- Provide construction administration and supervision during major and critical phases of a project related to Civil/Structuralworks
Qualifications and experience:
- B.S. degree in Structural/Civil Engineering is required
- 3-5 years’ experience in Structural Engineering positions preferably in heavy industrial installations
- Knowledge of Project Management is required.
- Knowledge of structural design software packages and CAD packages will be considered a plus
- Professional license in any State will be considered a plus
