JOB DESCRIPTION – Analytical Chemist (4681)
Location: Port Arthur, TX
Position Summary:
The Analytical Chemist will assist the lab supervisors/chemists by performing routine and non-routine laboratory analysis/wet chemistry on product and in-process samples, to support plant operations for the purpose of quality assurance and control. Utilize analytical instruments to address quality assurance and control issues.
- Essential Functions:Performing routine and non-routine laboratory analysis/wet chemistry
- Flexibility for changing role as needed.
- Perform calibration and maintenance of test equipment.
- Conduct calibration and maintenance of analytical testing equipment
- Prepare samples and ensure accurate data generation and records, in accordance with the standard operating procedures.
- Prepare chemical stock solutions and reagents, as well as set preparation standards.
- Qualifications:Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry, Engineering, or related field
- 2-5 years experience with analytical laboratory experience preferred
- Skills and Abilities:Ability to communicate effectively written and orally
- Basic understanding of GC systems
- Must be able to work in a team environment
- Must have strong computer skills
- Must be able to obtain TWIC card
