We’re seeking a Plastics & Processing Engineer with a solid foundation in the chemical makeup and molecular behavior of plastics, including polypropylene and thermoplastic polyurethane (TPU). This role focuses on optimizing plastic processing methods and requires deep knowledge of how different grades and types of plastics behave during production.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design, implement, and optimize plastic processing methods, including injection molding and structural foam production.
- Support new program launches and ensure production efficiency across current programs.
- Leverage in-depth plastics expertise to predict and manage material behavior, including the interaction of polypropylene with various colorants.
- Serve as a hands-on, innovative change agent within the organization.
Education, Experience, & Skills:
- Bachelor’s degree in Plastics Engineering.
- 5+ years of plastic process engineering experience preferred.
- Expertise in plastic injection molding; structural foam experience is a plus.
- Strong knowledge of molding processes, equipment, and tooling.
- Excellent project management and process improvement skills.
- Skilled in problem-solving, data analysis, and interpreting plastics materials data sheets.
