As a Jr. Service Plumbing Sales Representative, you will have the opportunity to contribute to drive the growth and development and expansion of SVM’s Plumbing Service division. The Junior Service Plumbing Sales Representative will play a crucial role in acquiring new business and supporting procurement efforts for our plumbing service accounts. This role offers a valuable opportunity to gain hands-on industry experience and advance your sales career in the plumbing field.
What You Will Do
- Build and manage a portfolio of accounts, specializing in commercial plumbing and piping services and repairs.
- Identify and research potential clients through various channels including online platforms, canvassing, drop-ins, emails, onsite meetings, leads, networking, etc.
- Maintain a sales pipeline to monitor account generation, customer interactions, forecasts, and present updates at monthly meetings.
- Create detailed proposals for new and existing clients, outlining a scope of work that is tailored to their unique requirements.
- Conduct site visits to assess customer operations and provide customized recommendations.
- Address customer inquiries and leads, successfully converting them into sales opportunities.
- Participate in training sessions to gain expertise in plumbing and piping systems, equipment, terminology, relevant codes, etc., to offer the best solutions to customers.
- Complete SVM’s internal sales training program to effectively acquire, grow, and maintain business while ensuring high levels of customer satisfaction and regulatory compliance.
- Create and manage detailed purchase orders (POs), specifying materials, part numbers, etc.
- Engage with vendors and distributors to procure plumbing and piping materials, monitor lead times, and update team members on timelines as needed.
- Manage Service Plumbing materials, ensuring accurate quantities are ordered and received, and materials are returned or stored appropriately at the end of projects.
- Participate in monthly meetings to review sales pipelines and forecasts.
- Attend industry events and networking opportunities to build relationships.
- Assist the Plumbing Service division with other tasks as business requires.
Education, Skills & Experience
- 1-2 years of sales experience or equivalent required, within the plumbing, construction, or mechanical distribution industry highly preferred.
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED; or equivalent combination of education and experience) required.Excellent written and verbal communication skills required.
- Ability to maintain professional relationships with internal team members and customers required.
- Proven ability to be an effective multitasker with great time management and organizational skills required.
- Demonstrates the ability to learn quickly, retain information, and apply technical knowledge a must.
- Possesses a valid California’s Driver’s License and willing to submit to a DMV report a must.
Compensation & Company Benefits Include
This is a salaried full-time, non-exempt position. The compensation for this role is $70,000 - $90,000 annually and is based on experience and skillset.
