The Director of Human Resources (HR) will lead and manage the human resource function within a cutting-edge biotechnology company specializing in cancer research and immunology. This role involves developing and implementing HR strategies, policies, and practices that align with the company’s mission to advance innovation in cancer treatment and immunotherapy. The Director of HR will support the company's growth by ensuring that it attracts, develops, and retains top talent, while fostering a collaborative and inclusive work environment.

Key Responsibilities
HR Strategy & Leadership
- Develop and implement HR strategies and initiatives that align with the company’s business goals and mission.
- Partner with senior leadership to provide HR guidance and ensure the workforce supports the company's scientific and business objectives.
Talent Acquisition & Workforce Development
- Lead efforts to recruit top scientific and technical talent in the fields of cancer research, immunology, and related biotech disciplines.
- Implement talent management strategies, including succession planning and leadership development, to build a strong and capable workforce that can drive innovation and growth.
Employee Engagement & Culture
- Develop programs to enhance employee engagement and satisfaction, ensuring a culture of collaboration, innovation, and scientific excellence.
- Drive initiatives to maintain a positive, inclusive, and diverse work environment.
Performance Management & Organizational Development
- Oversee performance management processes, ensuring alignment with company goals, professional development, and scientific achievements.
- Design and implement organizational development programs that support leadership development, team building, and cross-functional collaboration.
Compensation & Benefits
- Oversee the design and implementation of competitive compensation and benefits programs that align with industry standards and attract top talent.
- Regularly evaluate and optimize compensation structures, including salary, bonus, and equity programs, to ensure alignment with market trends and company objectives.
Compliance & Risk Management
- Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local employment laws, as well as regulatory requirements specific to the biotechnology and research sectors.
- Develop and enforce policies that mitigate HR-related risks and protect the company from legal or regulatory exposure.
HR Operations
- Oversee day-to-day HR operations, including payroll, employee records, and benefits administration.
- Lead the development and execution of HR policies and procedures, ensuring they are consistently applied across the organization.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Organizational Development, or a related field; advanced degree (MBA, Master’s in HR, or Organizational Psychology) is a plus.
- 7-10 years of progressive HR leadership experience, with a strong background in life sciences, biotechnology, or pharmaceutical industries.
- Proven success in talent acquisition, organizational development, and employee engagement within the biotech or healthcare industry.
- Solid understanding of the challenges in recruiting and retaining talent in scientific research, R&D, and clinical environments.
- Strong knowledge of employment laws and HR compliance issues, particularly those relevant to biotechnology and research sectors.
- Exceptional communication, leadership, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence and collaborate across all levels of the organization.
Preferred Experience
- Experience working within a biotech company focused on oncology, immunotherapy, or other therapeutic areas.
- Background in working with organizations engaged in clinical trials, regulatory compliance, and scientific research.
- Experience leading HR teams in fast-growing companies with a focus on scaling human resources operations and strategies.
