Job Description:
SUMMARY OF PURPOSE:
- Provides programming support for all Colleague related software used in college systems to include problem resolution, software modification, new software development, and general technical assistance to the user community.
- Works with users to identify and resolve problems and determine better solutions and/or business processes with primary focus on Colleague, supporting the main administrative system
- of the College to include working with users in managing and prioritizing the administrative systems project list.
- This position is expected to work in a multi-culturally diverse working environment.

- Researches and resolves application problems.
- Analyzes and refines College applications requirements.
- Designs, programs, tests, and documents solutions to college requirements.
- Works with the users to test solutions.
- Rigorously apply internal procedures and policies to ensure quality work.
- Logs and resolves software work orders.
- Performs other related duties, as assigned.
- Ability to work additional hours, as needed.
KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS REQUIRED:
- Skilled in both verbal and written communication
- Ability to work as a team player in a multi-culturally diverse working environment
- Write well designed, testable, efficient code using software development best practices
- Enterprise or transactional programming for applications
- GUI applications in Windows environment
- Windows, command prompt, and PowerShell
- Windows terminal emulators such as PuTTY, Telnet or similar
- Client-side scripting languages such as VBScript and JavaScript
- Database development, Access and SQL Server preferred
- SQL query language, SQL Server preferred
- Reporting tools, SSRS and Informer preferred
- Data migration and integration tools, SSIS preferred
- Unidata, U2, Pick or similar "multi-valued" database concepts and application development
- Proficiency with business basic programming languages
- Colleague/Envision basic programming and Colleague Studio strongly preferred
MINIMUM EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
EDUCATION:
- Bachelor's degree in computer information systems or related field.
EXPERIENCE:
- Five (5) years of experience in application software programming for a transactional or enterprise
